Prince Edward County Backyard Wedding

October 20, 2021

There are so many beautiful wedding venues in Prince Edward County but we always say choose the place that means the most to you. For A + S, this was on the banks of West Lake, with views of Sandbanks Provincial Park. They held their outdoor ceremony in the backyard of her father’s Prince Edward County property and opted for a first look and couple’s portraits lake-side.

Getting wedding ready in the family home

The bridal party got ready at her father’s home near Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County. While family members and vendors hustled outside to get the ceremony and reception sites ready, A spent the morning getting ready in a quiet nook inside. She planned the entire wedding from her living room in the height of the Ontario pandemic lockdown. She curated everything from the stationary to the florals to the decor. Thankfully she is incredibly organized and was able to complete all her to-do list tasks before the morning of the wedding so she could relax and be present in the moment.

The groom’s party got ready at his mother’s lakeside home in Picton. The boys had plenty of time to relax, hang by the water, and indulge in some family traditions.

First look on the shore of West Lake, Prince Edward County

A + S chose to do their first look on the shore of West Lake, just across from A’s dad’s home. As she approached him the water lapped gently along the shore and boaters could be seen enjoying the sunny day on the horizon. This is where their relationship flourished and it was so special to capture their first look here. As neighbors boated by, congratulating the happy couple they felt completely at home with their community.

Backyard Wedding Ceremony | Prince Edward County

Surrounded by their closest friends and family, A + S tied the knot in her father’s backyard. Under a hand-made floral arch, they incorporated beautiful family traditions and there wasn’t a dry eye in the group. The mood transitioned as they exited the ceremony to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder. As their family members danced down the aisle and into their arms it felt like everyone in attendance was fully present in this huge celebration of family and love.
