Real Wedding at The Meadows Catering in Stirling, Ontario
Tabatha and Dave hosted their wedding on a sunny, warm August day at The Meadows Catering in Stirling Ontario. For all the details on The Meadows Wedding Venue check out this post. Surrounded by their family and friends their ceremony was performed on the lawn under a beautiful floral arch in the mid-afternoon. They prioritized stunning floral decor, incredible food and a fun dance party. Tabatha and Dave were a dream to work with. We met them for an engagement shoot with their children at Lake-on-the-Mountain a month ahead of the wedding. This gave us all a chance to get to know each other, and for Tabatha and Dave to get really comfortable in front of our cameras. The highlight from that session was hearing Dave’s perspective on the session. Meeting ahead of the wedding made all the difference to him enjoying his wedding day and not worrying about the photography.
This photography thing was so much easier than I was expecting!

Wedding Party Preparation for Stirling Ontario Wedding
On their wedding day Tabatha and Dave each planned special mornings for their wedding party. Dave spent the morning at Deadleaf Distinguished Gentleman Barber, Pub and Haberdashery in Napanee with his groom’s party. Tabatha spent the morning with her bridal party at Purple Box Luxury Mobile Beauty Bar.
DDG is the perfect place for a wedding party to get ready for the wedding day. Dave and his groomsmen were able to sip drinks, have a haircut and a shave, as well as share snacks and a game of pool. The location in Napanee is convenient for The Meadows Catering Weddings.
Tabatha hired Purple Box Luxury Mobile Beauty Bar to come to her hotel in Trenton. The make-up artists and hairstylists from Purple Box were so fun and kind to work with. They made each member of the bridal party feel amazing and even Tabatha’s three-year-old daughter loved the experience. Tabatha looked ethereal with her fitted gown from Love Bird Bridal and flower crown made by Floralora Flowers.
Rustic Wedding Decor and Floral Details at The Meadows Wedding Venue
Tabatha worked with Kori from The Meadows and Sass from Floralora Flowers to create her rustic decor. They emphasized stunning floral designs and wood accents to tie everything together. I cannot overstate how beautiful the venue looked. The little rustic details popped on a palette of white and soft pinks with plenty of greenery. Tabatha and Dave provided Canadian Maple Syrup as wedding favours and added little handmade boxes of candy to each place setting.
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at The Meadows, Stirling
Tabatha and Dave opted for a late afternoon ceremony and kept things traditional with no first look. The moment Dave saw Tabatha coming down the aisle there were tears in his eyes. This moment, in front of their close friends and family, was so touching, absolute magic! Tabatha and Dave incorporated their children in the ceremony with a sand ceremony and handwritten vows.
Wedding Party Portraits at The Meadows Catering, Stirling
The Meadows has so many beautiful spots for photos. They have recently done so much work to create mini venues, including a woodland ceremony site and new pavilion (you can see these two sites in this Family Shoot at The Meadows Weddings post).
Tabatha and Dave chose to go with wedding party portraits and family formal portraits following the ceremony. We chose a shady spot close to the tree line for these wedding party portraits. After the wedding party portraits, Tabatha and Dave walked throughout the Meadows property with us, snuggling in and taking a few quiet moments to themselves. This mini couple’s session gave them time to breathe and soak in all the beautiful moments of the wedding day so far.
The Meadows Catering Wedding Reception Details
Tabatha and Dave had lawn games outside and a photo booth inside to keep their guests entertained during cocktail hour. They chose to incorporate speeches throughout their wedding meal and then to have their first dance on the lawn under the twinkle lights. Their guests gathered around them in a circle and their young children popped in and out of the dance.
Sunset Portraits at The Meadows Catering Wedding
At sunset, Tabatha and Dave joined us for a 10-minute portrait session on the hill behind The Meadows reception area. Again, they took a few quiet moments to just be with each other and soak it all in. We love taking these short portrait sessions throughout the day, to give couples a chance to slow down and to capture how they really feel in the moment.
Outdoor First Dance under Twinkle Lights
As the sun set and the twinkle lights shone Tabatha and Dave shared their first dance as a married couple on the lawn of the Meadows Catering, Stirling. They were joined for the last part of the song by their adorable children and their guests cheered loudly. If you’re wondering if you should have your first dance under the twinkle lights, the answer is a resounding HECK YES!
